A Kensington woman was asleep when an unknown man allegedly entered her home, sexually assaulted her and stole personal belongings, Philadelphia police say. Now, investigators are asking the public to help find 26-year-old Lee Johnson, whose image was released Tuesday.
The attack happened around 5:30 a.m. June 4 in the 2200 block of East Somerset Street, according to 6abc Philadelphia. Police say the adult victim awoke to find the man inside her residence, fought back during the assault and caused him to flee through the rear of the property. Several personal belongings were reported stolen.
Police Are Checking For Possible Additional Victims
Police say Johnson faces aggravated indecent assault, burglary, unlawful restraint and related charges. Pennsylvania law defines aggravated indecent assault as a penetration offense under specified circumstances, including lack of consent or forcible compulsion, according to the Pennsylvania General Assembly. The allegations have not been adjudicated in court.
Investigators released Johnson's image Tuesday and said he was most recently seen near the 6100 block of Algon Avenue. Police are also examining whether he may be connected to other sexual assaults, 6abc reported.
