A 28-year-old man is missing after being last seen on foot in Phoenix Saturday night, and authorities are asking residents to keep an eye out for him. David Clay has a medical condition that can cause confusion, raising concern for his well-being as the search continues.
Clay was last seen near 19th Avenue and Greenway Road around 11 p.m. Saturday, according to KTAR News. He is described as a white male who stands 6 feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a red shirt, black shorts, black shoes and a blue hat, while carrying multiple bags and wearing a towel around his neck.

Authorities have not publicly identified Clay’s medical condition, but they say it may cause him to become confused. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately, KTAR.com reports.

Arizona’s SAFE Alert system is used to spread information about missing people who are at heightened risk, including older adults and people with qualifying dementia, developmental or cognitive disabilities. The Arizona Department of Public Safety says alerts are issued when law enforcement believes a missing person may be in danger, local resources have been exhausted and public information could help with a safe recovery.
SAFE Alerts replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona and can involve missing people younger than 65 when qualifying disabilities or other danger factors are present. In Clay’s case, officials are urging the public to focus on his clothing, distinctive bags and towel, along with the area where he was last seen.
