The latest forecast marks a sharp turn from the earlier weekend-only outlook. An earlier Hoodline forecast focused on the warning through Sunday, while the new alert runs from 10 a.m. Monday through 8 p.m. Friday across Phoenix and much of the Valley.
The Hottest Stretch Starts Monday
Monday will be sunny with a high near 110, followed by 111 on Tuesday and 110 on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday could also reach 111 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Overnight lows will hover around 90 degrees Monday and Tuesday, then remain near 90 or in the low 90s through Friday. Winds should stay light at generally 0 to 5 mph, offering little practical help once the afternoon heat settles over the city.
Storm Chances Stay Minimal Until Late Week
Most of the week looks dry in Phoenix, with only a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms beginning after 5 p.m. Thursday and again Friday. Any storms are more likely to favor Arizona's higher terrain, while lower-desert communities face a limited chance of measurable rain.

The warning means heat-related illness will become much more likely, especially for people working or exercising outdoors. Residents should move strenuous activities to early morning or evening, drink water often and take regular breaks in shade or air conditioning.
