Reality TV personality Sidney Starr was arrested Sunday in Hapeville and is being held in Fulton County on three felony charges involving an alleged sexual assault of a juvenile. Her booking photo was released Monday, while police have not publicly disclosed the underlying allegations because a child is involved.
Hapeville police arrested Sidney Favors, who also goes by Sidney Starr, after an investigation tied to an alleged incident at an Embassy Suites hotel in the 3400 block of International Boulevard, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. The charges listed are sodomy, sexual battery against a child under 16 and aggravated child molestation, and the report says she remained in Fulton County Jail as the case moved to prosecutors.
The booking image shows Starr staring into the camera with her hair pulled back and wearing a dark jumpsuit. In TMZ's mugshot report, booking records identify the Hapeville Police Department as the arresting agency.
Police Have Released Few Details
The Hapeville Police Department told FOX 5 that it would not release additional information because the case involves a juvenile. Investigators have turned the matter over to the Fulton County District Attorney's Office for prosecution, leaving the booking charges and jail status as the main publicly confirmed details.
The Charges Remain Allegations
Georgia law makes sexual battery against a child under 16 a felony offense, according to the state's sexual-battery statute. Starr's arrest and booking do not establish guilt, and she is presumed innocent unless prosecutors prove the charges in court.
