Breakfast is getting a prehistoric upgrade at the Oklahoma City Zoo this September, where families can start Saturday with an all-you-can-eat buffet, animal encounters and a private hour inside Dinosaur Expedition. The new “Breakfast with the Animals” series runs on three mornings, and each session begins at 8:30 a.m.
According to the Oklahoma City Zoo, the events are scheduled for Sept. 5, Sept. 12 and Sept. 19 at Expedition Africa. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. inside the Love’s Pachyderm Building or on the patio overlooking the African Savanna, weather permitting.
A Dinosaur-Themed Morning At The Zoo
The meal comes with fruit, sausage, biscuits and gravy, eggs, potatoes, cinnamon roll bread pudding and coffee. Guests will also receive zoo admission, an animal ambassador presentation, a dinosaur meet-and-greet and private access to Dinosaur Expedition from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
As reported by KOKH, the event will also feature caretaker chats and animal experiences, giving visitors a chance to explore the zoo during a calmer early-morning window. The Dinosaur Expedition exhibit features more than 60 animatronic dinosaurs from the Jurassic, Cretaceous and Triassic periods.
Ticket Prices And Conservation Support
The zoo currently lists adult tickets at $58 and child tickets for ages 3 through 11 at $48. Adult ZOOfriends tickets are listed at $37, while children age 2 and under are free; the event page notes that admission is required and tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
The zoo’s event listing says $2 from every ticket sold will support elephant conservation. The events are scheduled to take place rain or shine, although animal experiences remain subject to the animals’ cooperation—an understandable bit of fine print when the guests have claws, trunks or several million years of evolutionary confidence.
