According to the National Weather Service in Morristown, rain could develop before 11 a.m., followed by the best chance for storms between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The chance of precipitation is around 50%, with roughly a tenth to a quarter-inch of rain possible, while southwest winds of 5 to 10 mph could gust to 20 mph.
Storm Chances Fade Tonight
Showers and thunderstorms remain possible through about 10 p.m. Sunday before skies turn partly cloudy. The low should settle near 70, and stronger storms could still bring brief heavy rain, gusty winds and localized flooding, so outdoor plans should have a backup.
Monday Through Wednesday Stay Unsettled
The storm pattern sticks around Monday through Wednesday, with daily chances of showers and thunderstorms and highs in the mid to upper 80s. Monday and Tuesday carry precipitation chances around 50% to 60%, while Wednesday could reach 87 degrees with storms likely after 8 a.m.
Heat Rebuilds By Thursday
By Thursday through Saturday, temperatures climb toward 89 degrees as storm chances ease into a more typical summer pattern of scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. No watches, warnings or advisories are currently in effect for the Knoxville area, but lightning and sudden downpours remain good reasons to keep an eye on the sky.
