Temperatures will climb steadily through the day, reaching the upper 80s by midafternoon under sunny skies. North-northwest winds should stay light at around 3 mph, and rain is not expected.
According to NWS Portland, portions of the I-5 corridor and Columbia River Gorge face Moderate HeatRisk Thursday. That level of heat is most likely to affect people who are sensitive to high temperatures, especially those without reliable cooling or enough water, so outdoor plans are best handled with hydration and breaks from the afternoon sun.
Clouds Arrive Before A Cooler Weekend
Friday will be noticeably cloudier, with a high near 84 and only a 4% chance of rain during the day. The rain chance rises after 11 p.m. Friday, when showers could develop across the area, with a 30% chance and rainfall totals expected to stay below a tenth of an inch.
Saturday brings the biggest change: a slight chance of morning showers, partly sunny skies and a high near 75. Winds will turn south-southwest around 7 mph, while Sunday stays partly sunny and mild near 76 before sunshine returns Monday with a high around 83.
Next Week Trends Seasonable
Tuesday should remain sunny near 82, followed by a mostly sunny Wednesday near 79. Overnight lows will generally settle in the upper 50s to low 60s, offering considerably more relief than Thursday night's low around 63.
