A man wanted on a capital murder warrant in the deaths of two men outside a North Side bar remains at large more than a year after the shooting, with investigators believing he may have crossed into Mexico within hours of the killings. San Antonio Police are asking the public for help locating 29-year-old Samuel Adrian Barron, who has an active warrant charging him with capital murder of multiple persons in the deaths of Carlos Claros and Guillermo Serrano Jr.
According to WOAI, police were called around 5:24 a.m. on June 8, 2025, to a report of a shooting in progress at Luna Bar & Lounge on San Pedro. Claros, 31, was found dead at the scene from gunshot wounds, while Serrano Jr., 45, was found wounded in the parking lot and later died at a hospital. Witnesses told police that a disturbance involving Barron and the two victims preceded the shooting, and the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office ruled Serrano Jr.'s death a homicide.
Early Confusion Gave Way to a Single-Suspect Manhunt
The picture at the scene wasn't immediately clear. As reported by KSAT, initial police reports suggested a parking lot fight involving a group of women had led the two male victims to potentially shoot each other. SAPD later clarified that a single shooter fled the scene before officers arrived, a determination homicide detectives reached after gathering witness statements and video evidence.
The station's report also noted that the shooting drew the attention of state regulators. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission opened an inquiry into Luna Bar & Lounge following the early-morning incident and revealed that the establishment was already under a separate investigation dating back to August 2024 over alleged alcohol consumption during prohibited hours.
Surveillance Video and a Reward for Tips
Investigators have released surveillance footage in hopes of tracking Barron down. Per the San Antonio Express-News, the video shows Barron walking on a sidewalk wearing gray pants and a white polo shirt with a vertical black stripe on the sleeve. He is described as standing 5-foot-7 and weighing 160 pounds. Investigators believe Barron crossed the U.S.–Mexico border shortly after the shooting, according to the same report.

What the Charges Could Mean
Barron's warrant carries some of the most severe penalties available under Texas law. Under Texas Penal Code Section 19.03(a)(7), intentionally killing more than one person during the same criminal transaction constitutes capital murder, a capital felony punishable by life imprisonment without parole or the death penalty, the Express-News reported.
A Building With a Turbulent Recent History
The address itself, 6740 San Pedro Avenue near Oblate Drive, has seen its share of change. The Express-News pinpointed the location along the high-traffic commercial strip, but the space has a longer local story: it operated for two decades as Luna, a well-known San Antonio live music bar, before changing ownership in late 2023, as previously reported by Hoodline. The building later housed the nightlife venue Haus of Horror, which abruptly closed in 2026, illustrating the turnover the site has experienced since the sale of the original music venue.
The San Pedro Avenue corridor has also seen other violence in recent months, underscoring ongoing concerns about safety along the strip. As it stands, Barron remains a fugitive, and the case that began as an ambiguous 5:24 a.m. disturbance call has grown into an international search for a man accused of killing two men in a single, brief encounter outside a bar that no longer exists under that name.
