Evening High Tide Brings Minor Flooding Risk
A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect for San Diego County’s coastal areas through 11 p.m. Wednesday. The NWS San Diego expects high tides between 6.9 and 7.2 feet from roughly 9 to 10 p.m., which could cause minor flooding in low-lying beach parking lots, boardwalks and roads.
The flooding threat is being driven mainly by the elevated tide, with small surf not expected to add much to the problem. Drivers should allow extra time near the shoreline, avoid barricades and never drive through water of unknown depth.
Clouds Linger Before A Gradual Warmup
Wednesday night will stay mostly cloudy, with a low near 68 and light west winds. Thursday looks similar but slightly cooler, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 77.
Friday should turn mostly sunny, followed by a mostly sunny weekend with highs near 78 Saturday and 79 Sunday. Temperatures then edge upward early next week, reaching around 80 Tuesday, while overnight lows remain in the upper 60s.
For anyone heading inland, forecasters see a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms near the mountains and high desert from late Wednesday morning through the afternoon. San Diego’s coastal neighborhoods are expected to remain dry, with west winds generally staying between 0 and 10 mph.
