Clouds Clear As Afternoon Heat Builds
The National Weather Service’s San Francisco office says the marine layer is staying compressed through midweek, meaning low clouds may linger near the coast while inland communities such as San Jose warm up more quickly. In the South Bay, skies should brighten by late morning before temperatures climb into the mid-80s during the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Northwest winds will remain light, ranging from about 1 to 8 mph today, then strengthening slightly during the afternoon. Tonight should turn partly cloudy, with a low near 60 degrees and no meaningful chance of precipitation.
A Gradual Cooldown Takes Hold Later This Week
Wednesday will stay warm with a high near 85, followed by a subtle cooldown on Thursday and Friday. Highs are forecast around 83 on Thursday and 80 on Friday, while overnight lows are expected to be mostly between 58 and 60 degrees.
Saturday should be sunny and near 80 degrees, with next Sunday warming slightly to about 82 before next Monday brings mostly sunny skies and a high near 79. Coastal areas may remain cloudier and cooler, but San Jose looks set for several comfortable late-summer afternoons once the morning marine layer retreats.
