Sunshine will push the city toward 90 degrees, with even hotter conditions expected tomorrow. A Heat Advisory is in effect as the Santa Clara Valley heads into its hottest stretch of the weekend.
Heat Builds Through Sunday
The advisory runs from 10 a.m. today through 10 p.m. tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service. Today will be sunny with light winds and a high near 90, while tomorrow is expected to reach about 93 degrees under mostly sunny skies. The advisory covers the Santa Clara Valley and Eastern Hills, among other interior Bay Area locations.
Dry Conditions Raise Fire Concerns
The weather service is also warning of near-critical fire weather conditions across the interior because of the combination of heat and very dry air. Afternoon humidity in higher terrain could fall sharply, with little overnight recovery. Residents should drink water, limit strenuous outdoor activity to the morning or evening, and never leave children or pets in unattended vehicles.
Cooling Arrives Next Week
Temperatures begin easing Monday, with a forecast high near 89 degrees, followed by 87 Tuesday and 85 Wednesday. Thursday and Friday should be cooler, with highs near 81 and 80, respectively. Patchy fog may return late Thursday night and linger into Friday morning before giving way to mostly sunny skies.
