Seattle's next generation of performers is getting its Neverland moment this month, as the city's Teen Summer Musical prepares to bring Peter Pan: Ready to Rise! to McCaw Hall. The 10-week production is aimed at youth of color ages 9 to 18, and organizers are asking local businesses and supporters to help get it across the finish line.
Seattle Parks and Recreation's Aug. 3 sponsorship post lays out three ways to pitch in. A $125 silver sponsorship includes a quarter-page playbill advertisement and social media mention; a $250 gold sponsorship includes a half-page playbill advertisement and social media inclusion; and a $500 platinum sponsorship adds a full-page advertisement and opening-night acknowledgment, according to the Aug. 3 sponsorship post. The post lists Dayna Gabler at [email protected] as the contact for more information.
A 10-Week Runway To McCaw Hall
Seattle Parks and Recreation describes the Teen Summer Musical as a 10-week introduction to theater built around workshops and collaborative practice. The program uses a Discipline, Confidence and Motivation framework intended to help participants develop self-discipline, self-confidence and self-motivation.
The current public schedule lists performances from Friday, Aug. 28, through Sunday, Aug. 30, with the production expected to include more than 70 roles. An event listing describes the showcase as the culmination of the summer intensive at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall.
Tickets Are $30 As The Sponsorship Push Continues
General admission is listed at $30, with a running time of 150 minutes, according to the show's ticketing page. McCaw Hall is at Seattle Center, giving the young cast a considerably larger stage than the average summer-camp finale.
Seattle Parks and Recreation's sponsorship announcement says the production could draw up to 3,300 attendees across its multiple performances. That gives the playbill, social media and opening-night acknowledgments a distinctly local audience beyond the families and friends already connected to the program.
A Returning Seattle Youth-Theater Tradition
This is not the city's first Teen Summer Musical to take over a major Seattle venue. Hoodline's 2024 coverage detailed the program's production of Snow Whyte & The Seven at Benaroya Hall, where young performers spent the summer training in acting, dance, vocals and backstage theater work.
Now the destination is McCaw Hall, and the sponsorship menu is refreshingly straightforward: $125, $250 or $500 in exchange for different levels of visibility around a production designed to put Seattle youth in the spotlight.
