
A 69-year-old man was beaten and robbed of shampoo and cleaning supplies in Gowanus on Sunday, turning an ordinary errand into a bloody street attack. Police are now searching for the person who allegedly took the household items and ran.
According to a report by News 12 Brooklyn, the man was attacked in front of a building on Douglass Street. Police said the alleged robber punched him repeatedly across his body before snatching the supplies and fleeing.
Police Release Description Of Suspect
The victim suffered lacerations to his head and body, and paramedics took him to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He is expected to recover from the injuries, according to police.
The wanted man was described as wearing a black Dodgers cap, a plaid button-up shirt over a white T-shirt, ripped jeans and black Nike sneakers. Police said he also carried a black backpack.
NYPD Seeks Tips In Gowanus Robbery
The NYPD has released images and video of the person it wants to identify. Anyone who recognizes him or has information about the attack is asked to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
Tips can also be submitted anonymously online, and callers should not approach the suspect themselves. The investigation remains active.
