A Saturday afternoon shooting at a Gresham-Rockwood apartment complex sent one person to the hospital and put another person in custody, drawing a heavy law enforcement response to the area.
Deputies with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office and Gresham police responded around 2:39 p.m. to the 200 block of Southeast 188th Avenue, according to KATU. Police said the shooting happened at the Nash apartment complex and asked the public to stay away while investigators worked an active scene; officials had not released the victim’s condition, the identity of the person in custody or what led to the gunfire.
Rockwood Has Seen Recent Gun Violence
The response comes about a month after a fatal shooting at Rockwood Village Apartments. In an update released July 2, the City of Gresham said 25-year-old D’Angelo Adams was shot and killed June 29 in the 700 block of Southeast 185th Avenue, with the death ruled a homicide by gunfire.
