Sevierville Golf Club is adding a tech-heavy new way to whack golf balls with the opening of The Eagles Nest this Friday. The covered Toptracer range pairs Smoky Mountain views with real-time shot data, games and virtual courses. It is designed for serious golfers, casual players and groups who would rather make an evening of practice than silently launch balls into the void.
The name may sound like a climate-controlled simulator lounge, but The Eagles Nest is actually a covered driving range with open-air bays. According to the official facility site, Toptracer uses camera-based tracking to show carry distance, total distance, ball speed, height and other data after each shot. The range has 10 bays, with seating and room for up to four guests per bay.
The facility will operate seven days a week, with range balls available for purchase until 4 p.m. After that, the bays can be rented by the hour for private gatherings, with food and beverage options available, WVLT reported. Reservations are being accepted online ahead of Friday’s debut.
More Than A Bucket Of Range Balls
Toptracer gives The Eagles Nest a built-in arcade component, with options including closest-to-the-pin, long-drive, target and points games. The facility also offers virtual golf on famous courses, while a practice mode can help players study launch angle, ball speed and distance. That mix gives beginners something to do besides apologize for every swing and gives experienced golfers plenty of numbers to obsess over.
The project has been in the works for months. A December 2025 agenda from the City of Sevierville outlined contracts with Cover the Tees and Top Tracer Golf, along with construction and related purchases for driving-range improvements with a not-to-exceed cost of $535,000 during fiscal year 2026.
A New Layer For Sevierville’s Public Golf Club
The addition expands an existing city golf destination that already features the River and Highlands courses, according to the city’s golf club page. For locals, it creates a weather-friendly practice and entertainment option without requiring a full round, while visitors headed toward the Smokies get another activity that can fit around a busy vacation schedule.
The Eagles Nest’s first swings are set for Friday, with the facility positioned as both a practice range and a social venue. More details, game options and booking information are available through the Eagles Nest website.
