A 17-year-old St. Cloud teen was allegedly threatened with a handgun during a Monday afternoon confrontation, and two acquaintances are now in custody. Police say the victim was not injured, but the incident left investigators sorting out what happened inside a vehicle near southeast St. Cloud.
Officers responded to an assault call around 1 p.m. Monday after receiving a report that a handgun had been pulled on the teenager, according to WJON. The victim and suspects reportedly knew each other, and police said the suspects were in a vehicle during the confrontation.
Authorities later located the vehicle and arrested both suspects without incident. Officers also recovered a handgun from the vehicle, while the 17-year-old victim was checked and found to have no reported injuries.
Two Suspects Remain In Custody As Investigation Continues
The suspects are a 17-year-old St. Cloud male and 20-year-old Quinton McNeal, both of St. Cloud. The juvenile is being held in a secure detention facility, while McNeal is being held in the Sherburne County Jail pending formal charges, WJON reported.
The arrest comes after another recent St. Cloud gun case involving an alleged threat from a vehicle. In a July 2 report, WJON detailed felony charges against an 18-year-old accused of pointing a handgun at five women inside a car in south St. Cloud.
No Injuries Reported And Formal Charges Pending
Police have not released additional details about what led to Monday's confrontation or identified the juvenile suspect publicly. The case remains under investigation, and the initial report did not list formal charges against McNeal.
