Fog Fades Before A Sunny Afternoon
Visibility may briefly drop near rivers and other low-lying areas early Monday, with some pockets of fog potentially lingering through about 8 a.m. Temperatures should climb from the upper 50s this morning into the low 80s by lunchtime, making for a comfortable — if slightly damp — start before the sunshine takes over.
Warmer Weather Arrives Before Storm Chances
Tuesday, August 25, will be mostly sunny with a high near 86 and a low around 69. The bigger shift arrives Wednesday, August 26, when temperatures reach about 90 degrees and a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms develops from the morning into the afternoon, with storm chances rising to 30% Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service in St. Louis.
The weather service says any storms that develop Wednesday could become strong to severe, although no watches or warnings are posted for St. Louis on Monday. Storm chances ease behind a weak front, leaving Thursday and Friday sunny and slightly cooler, with highs near 88 and overnight lows in the upper 60s.
Weekend Heat Builds Again
Mostly sunny skies return Saturday, August 29, with a high near 90, followed by a hotter Sunday near 93 degrees. A few showers could pop up late Saturday night or early Sunday, and thunderstorms become possible again Sunday night, but the weekend forecast is still largely dry.
