The National Weather Service says Tuesday could be the roughest day, with a high near 99 and a heat index up to 111, while southwest winds stay light at around 8 mph.
A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible early Monday, but the chance of rain drops quickly as skies turn mostly sunny. Monday night will remain mostly clear, though the low near 79 and lingering humidity could keep conditions uncomfortable well after sunset.
Storm Chances Rise Midweek
Wednesday will bring another hot afternoon near 97 degrees, along with a slight chance of showers before early afternoon. Rain and thunderstorm chances increase Wednesday night and Thursday, when the high is forecast near 93.
Friday could be somewhat cooler near 90 degrees, but the forecast still calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Weekend highs are expected to remain in the low 90s, suggesting that any midweek cooldown may be more of a brief pause than a clean break from the heat.
