Four of the biggest names in Twitch streaming are trading their webcams for a proscenium stage this Friday, when the podcast Fear& brings its unscripted chaos to San Francisco's Golden Gate Theatre. Hosts Hasan Piker, QTCinderella, Will Neff, and AustinShow are billing the August 21 show as, in their own words, the first and possibly last tour of its kind, promising audience Q&A, live stage debates, and what organizers describe as unfiltered chaos in front of a live crowd.
The San Francisco date marks the opening night of a four-city West Coast run that continues to Seattle's McCaw Hall on August 22, Portland on August 23, and wraps up at Los Angeles's Dolby Theatre on August 29, according to McCaw Hall. Ticket prices for the tour start at $20, and ATG San Francisco, which is promoting the San Francisco stop, teased the run in a Facebook video posted last night with the caption “THIS FRIDAY!” The Golden Gate Theatre appearance is the tour's launch point, giving Bay Area fans first crack at seeing the format live.
A Podcast Built on Banter Goes Live
Fear& started life as Fear & Malding, hosted by Piker and Neff, before the show split from its original production network, added QTCinderella and AustinShow to the lineup, and rebranded, according to background cited on Reddit. The weekly show centers on pop culture, internet memes, and unscripted host banter, and the hosts describe this tour as their first live stage production in front of a theater audience, per Broadway World. That outlet reports the San Francisco show will translate the podcast's usual format into something interactive, with audience Q&A, live stage debates, and exclusive merchandise for sale.
Piker is arguably the most recognizable name on the bill, a prominent political Twitch streamer whose broadcasts regularly draw tens of thousands of concurrent viewers. He has also branched into live political appearances and documentary work, including co-producing a 2026 film on U.S.-Cuba relations, as Hoodline has previously reported. QTCinderella, meanwhile, is known beyond the podcast as the founder and executive producer of The Streamer Awards, an annual live-streamed ceremony she created to recognize achievements across the streaming industry.
A Lineup Change for the Seattle Stop
Not every date on the tour will feature the full four-person lineup. Organizers announced that QTCinderella will participate in the Seattle show remotely due to unforeseen circumstances, with streamer Caroline Kwan filling in on stage alongside Piker, Neff, and AustinShow, according to Seattle Center's event listing for McCaw Hall. QTCinderella is still scheduled to appear in person at the tour's other stops, including Friday's San Francisco show.
Ahead of the San Francisco date, organizers rolled out a $35 all-in student ticket discount using the code STUDENT, a pricing tier that includes all mandatory taxes and processing charges, according to a post shared on the University of San Francisco's subreddit. The discount appears aimed squarely at Bay Area college students, a demographic that overlaps heavily with the show's online fan base.
A Historic Stage for a New Kind of Act
The Golden Gate Theatre itself carries plenty of history for a show built on internet culture. Located at 1 Taylor Street in the Mid-Market/Tenderloin district, the venue seats 2,297 people across three levels and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, according to background compiled from Wikipedia. It was built in 1922 as a vaudeville venue and restored in 1979 for performing arts programming.
The theater is operated by BroadwaySF under parent company ATG Entertainment, which acquired the Golden Gate along with the nearby Orpheum Theatre from the Nederlander Company in 2021, as reported by KQED. BroadwaySF handles booking and marketing for both historic Market Street venues, and it has increasingly booked alternative live content beyond traditional musical theater, including experimental rock act Puscifer's May 2026 run, which Hoodline covered in an earlier preview, as well as The Rock Orchestra by Candlelight. Friday's Fear& show adds another data point to that trend, testing whether an audience built on Twitch chat and podcast subscriptions will fill a 2,297-seat historic theater the same way a touring band or Broadway production would.
