Two drivers suffered serious injuries in a head-on collision early Saturday morning on Highway 61 near White Bear Township, with one of them later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Troopers were called around 12:59 a.m. to Highway 61 near Aspen Lane, where a northbound Honda CR-V and a southbound Toyota RAV4 crashed into each other, according to KSTP. Both drivers were taken to hospitals for injuries described by investigators as serious.
The Toyota driver, a 25-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. She was not in custody while receiving medical treatment, and a blood test was still pending.
The condition of the Honda driver was not released. The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating how the vehicles ended up colliding head-on, and no additional details about the crash were immediately available.
Arrest Does Not Mean Charges Have Been Proven
The DUI arrest is an allegation, not a conviction. Under Minnesota law, driving while impaired can be based on intoxication or an alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more, but investigators must still complete the testing and charging process.
