A pair of Italian transplants who once worked shoulder to shoulder in a Strip kitchen have set up shop in a Henderson strip mall, pouring a 260-year-old chocolate-and-espresso drink most Las Vegas visitors have never heard of. Torino Cafè, an Italian specialty coffee house and bakery, opened in May 2026 at 10604 S. Eastern Ave., Suite A, run by co-founders Rocco Suriano and Rocco Marsiglia.

The two Roccos met while working together at GIADA, celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis's restaurant on the second floor of the former Cromwell hotel, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. That property has since been rebranded as The Vanderpump Hotel following a property-wide redesign by Caesars Entertainment and Lisa Vanderpump, per Meetings & Conventions. Suriano, a Torino native, grew up washing dishes and making gelato in his family's restaurant back home before coming to the United States in his mid-20s. Marsiglia hails from Calabria and attended an Italian vocational school with culinary and hospitality training, having also worked in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Suriano told the Review-Journal that Torino Cafè began as two Italians in Las Vegas simply seeking a good morning espresso. He said the pair wanted to recreate an Italian caffè that is loud, family-oriented, welcoming and personal — a description that shapes both the menu and the room itself. According to Everyday.Vegas, the shop is open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. with an open dining layout, natural light, lounge chairs and bright yellow outdoor patio umbrellas.

A Torinese Classic Anchors the Menu

The signature draw is bicerin, a historic hot drink native to Torino, also known as Turin, and named for the Piedmontese word for little glass. At Torino Cafè, the drink is layered with dark chocolate, double espresso, whipped cream and cocoa powder — a modern take on a beverage that has been served since the 18th century and traces its roots to an earlier mixed drink called bavareisa, according to National Geographic. Turin's Caffè Al Bicerin claims to have created the drink, and the beverage remains a symbol of Torino and the surrounding region. Its cultural weight is formalized in Italy: the regional government of Piedmont officially recognized bicerin as a traditional regional specialty product in 2001, per Italia.it.

Suriano leads the coffee program, the bicerin and the shop's sweeter offerings, which include pistachio and Nutella espressos, cappuccinos and lattes alongside standard doppio double-shot espressos, americanos and lattes. The bakery case rotates through cornetti — plain and filled crescents — plus saccottino cioccolato, a chocolate-filled pastry, and girelle, pastry pinwheels filled with cinnamon or berries. Yogurt, açai, focaccia and Nutella bowls round out the lighter options.

Panini Built From Home Recipes

Marsiglia leads the savory side of the menu, particularly the panini program, which the Review-Journal notes forms a central part of Torino Cafè's identity. The porchetta panino includes roasted pork, provolone, caramelized onions, spicy giardiniera pickles and arugula, while the cotto e formaggio panino pairs ham and Swiss cheese with cetriolini gherkins and mayonnaise. An Italia panino built on mozzarella fior di latte, tomato and pesto rounds out the lineup alongside a mortadella option, plin pinched breads, salads and bowls.

The shop also fits into a broader shift of Strip hospitality talent finding audiences in the suburbs. Suriano previously worked for the Bastianich-Batali hospitality group in Las Vegas, the fine-dining operation behind Strip restaurants like Carnevino Steakhouse at The Palazzo before the group ended its Las Vegas operations in 2018, according to Fox News. Hoodline recently reported on a similar pattern with Maxie's move to Henderson, another Strip-rooted concept planting roots in the suburbs.

Beyond the Counter

Torino Cafè has also built out a lifestyle brand beyond food and drink, selling custom graphic t-shirts and hoodies with Turin-inspired themes both in-store and online, according to the Torino Cafè website. The business additionally offers private event venue rentals and custom catering for corporate functions, graduations and private celebrations.

The Henderson strip mall at 10604 S. Eastern Ave. already has a food-focused identity, with Munch Box operating out of Suite C and Subway in Suite D. Hoodline previously featured Munch Box in a 2020 roundup of inexpensive Henderson breakfast spots. Torino Cafè's arrival also continues a longer trend along the South Eastern Avenue corridor, where specialty coffee shops have steadily taken root — Hoodline reported on the April 2019 opening of Dark Moon Coffee Roasters at 11041 S. Eastern Ave. as part of that same growth pattern.
