A woman was shot Monday afternoon at an apartment complex on Latonka Trail in North St. Louis County, the same property where a maintenance worker was killed in February. St. Louis County police said the woman suffered at least one gunshot wound in the attack.
Details about the woman's condition and a possible suspect have not been released. The shooting was first reported by First Alert 4, which noted the complex was also the site of the maintenance worker's killing earlier this year. The station did not provide further specifics on the circumstances of Monday's shooting.
A Complex With a Troubled Past
The property in the 11400 block of Latonka Trail currently operates under the name Adelyn Place, though it was formerly known as Hathaway Village Apartments, according to RentCafe. The complex offers one- and two-bedroom rental units in the 63033 zip code near Florissant.
This is not the first time violence has struck that same block. In October 2021, 3-year-old Eli Taylor suffered fatal abdominal trauma at the Latonka Trail address, a case that led to second-degree murder charges against 21-year-old Tevin Branom, per RiverBender.com. Emergency responders had originally been called to the address for a report of a child not breathing.

St. Louis County investigated 45 homicides across its jurisdiction in 2025 as part of broader regional violence reduction efforts, according to St. Louis County government figures, with the county participating in the Save Lives Now initiative aimed at reducing gun violence. No arrests have been announced in Monday's Latonka Trail shooting, and it remains unclear whether the case is connected to the earlier violence at the same complex.
