Amped Fitness officially flipped the switch on its seventh Greater Houston location, opening the doors at 10707 Westheimer Road on September 1. The new club, tucked into the Westchase-area corridor, arrives with premium strength equipment, a full training floor, and a lineup of amenities that go well beyond a typical budget gym — including cold plunges, infrared recovery rooms, and a moon-themed mindfulness lounge.
The opening caps a rapid buildout across the region that began in May 2025, when the Florida-based chain announced its first Houston-area locations in Willowbrook, Gessner, and Copperfield's Hearthstone Plaza, according to My Neighborhood News. Westheimer now marks the seventh Amped Fitness club to open in the greater Houston area, part of a broader push that has the company describing itself as an immersive fitness brand rather than a standard gym chain. As Community Impact reports, the Westheimer club includes private multipurpose spaces, professionally instructed reformer Pilates, and immersive cardio zones designed to set it apart from bare-bones competitors.
What's Inside The Westheimer Club
Members walking into the new location will find a system of themed zones built around specific workout moods. The Amped Arena is associated with power-focused training, while Azura Cove is billed as the club's recovery space and Lunar Escape offers what the company calls a mindfulness environment themed around the moon. South Peach leans into playfulness, and Aura Pilates is centered on control-focused movement, according to the same report.
There's also Sweat Cinema, where members can watch a movie while completing cardio, and Studio Suites, private spaces the company says members can use to record a podcast, take a virtual meeting, or create content without distractions. The Westheimer club rounds things out with a kids' club and, for female members, the brand's long-running Babe Cave After Hours space, which the company associates with confidence. Amped Fitness first introduced the original Babe Cave concept at its debut St. Petersburg, Florida location in 2016, when the company occupied just 10,000 square feet with far more limited amenities, according to Club Solutions Magazine — a footprint that has since grown considerably alongside the brand's amenity list.
Membership Tiers And Fees
Amped Fitness memberships start at $14.99 per month, which includes single-club access and admission to the gym floor, per Community Impact's report on the opening. A revamped $29.99-per-month package includes access to multiple clubs along with VIP admission to the Pilates and recovery rooms. CEO Travis LaBazzo said the company's broader lineup, which it calls the Amped Universe, includes eight destinations, and that “the Amped Universe offers more than a basic equipment lineup.”
LaBazzo added that “Amped Fitness is thrilled to expand its presence with the opening of the Westheimer location,” and said the new club “continues Amped Fitness' commitment to a one-of-a-kind immersive fitness experience.” Prospective members should also note that presale members are billed an annual maintenance fee of $54, charged 30 days after a location officially opens on top of recurring monthly dues, according to a Facebook post from the gym's Westheimer account.
Part Of A Bigger Texas Buildout
The Westheimer opening isn't happening in isolation. In January, private equity firm Princeton Equity Group made a strategic investment in Amped Fitness aimed at accelerating its national footprint, according to Princeton Equity Group. At the time of that investment, the chain operated 35 locations across six states — Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas — serving more than 180,000 members nationwide, per data from Harris Williams.
Texas has become a particular focus of that expansion. Outside Houston, Amped Fitness signed a lease in June for a 32,895-square-foot space at Watauga Pavilion near Fort Worth, repurposing a former Party City space, continuing the brand's pattern of converting big-box retail footprints into gym floors. The company built its franchise model after initially growing through corporate-owned locations, including its 2023 acquisition and conversion of three former YouFit gyms in Florida, according to PR Newswire.
Why The Amenities Matter
Industry researchers say Amped Fitness's approach reflects a broader shift some are calling “HVLP 2.0,” in which low-cost gym operators bundle contrast therapy, recovery amenities, and specialized studio spaces into $20-to-$30 monthly membership tiers, according to research from Beyond Activ. That's a departure from older high-value, low-price models that focused solely on basic equipment. The global high-value, low-price gym market is projected to grow from $21.4 billion in 2026 to $37.8 billion by 2033, with the United States representing the largest single market at an estimated $6.2 billion this year, per Stats N Data.
For Westheimer-area residents, the new club adds another 24/7 option to a stretch of Houston that has seen steady gym growth over the past year and a half. Whether members opt for the $14.99 entry tier or spring for VIP access to the Pilates and recovery rooms, Amped Fitness is betting that Houston's appetite for budget-friendly wellness amenities still has room to grow.
