A traffic stop in Bexar County turned into something much bigger this week when Texas Department of Public Safety troopers discovered the driver was wanted on a felony warrant that had gone unresolved since 2022. The man, identified as Adrian Duron, was taken into custody after troopers found an active warrant for indecency with a child, and he now also faces multiple charges related to narcotics trafficking.
A Years-Old Warrant Finally Catches Up
According to WOAI, troopers arrested the wanted felon during the traffic stop in Bexar County, Texas, after running his information and finding the outstanding warrant. That outlet identified him as 47-year-old Adrian Duron, though a separate report from a different market identified a man by a similar name at a different age, a discrepancy addressed further below. The station reported that the warrant for indecency with a child dated back to 2022, meaning it had remained active for years before the traffic stop brought it to a close.
Beyond the child indecency warrant, the same report noted that Duron was arrested on multiple charges related to narcotics trafficking during the same stop, though the outlet did not detail the specific narcotics allegations. The arrest photo distributed alongside the report was credited to the Texas Department of Public Safety's Facebook page, per the photo caption.
Conflicting Reports on the Suspect's Age
The case carries an unresolved wrinkle: WOAI's report lists the man arrested in Bexar County as 47-year-old Adrian Duron, while a separate report from KRGV in the Rio Grande Valley identified a wanted registered sex offender named 30-year-old Adrian Antonio Duron. The two accounts do not agree on the suspect's age, and nothing in either report resolves whether they describe the same individual or two people who happen to share a name.
KRGV's earlier report centered on the McAllen Police Department's search for a registered sex offender wanted on an indecency with a child charge. That report said police had issued an arrest warrant for Duron on the charge, alleging he engaged in sexual contact with a child younger than 17 years of age. The outlet noted the incident was first reported to officers on a Friday at the 300 block of East Upas Avenue in McAllen.
Lifetime Registry Requirement
As a registered sex offender, KRGV's report explained, Duron is required to report annually to the state's sex offender registry for life. That obligation stems from his prior status as a registered offender, independent of the newer allegations described in either report. Neither outlet's account clarifies how the McAllen warrant and the Bexar County traffic-stop arrest connect, and the underlying case details, including the specific narcotics charges tied to the traffic stop, have not been made public in either report.
