According to the National Weather Service Boston/Norton office, Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with rain spreading in during the morning and becoming widespread by afternoon, a high near 65 and a 60% chance of precipitation. Rain will continue Sunday night with patchy fog, and another quarter- to half-inch of rain is possible. That is a sharper update from Friday's Hoodline forecast, which had called for a cooler but less certain wet weekend.
Beachgoers Face A Rip Current Risk
A rip current statement remains in effect through 8 p.m. Saturday for east-facing Massachusetts beaches, including Eastern Suffolk County. Anyone heading to the coast should swim near a lifeguard, avoid fighting the current and move parallel to shore if caught in one.
Cooler, Windier Pattern Takes Over
Monday should turn partly sunny after a slight chance of early showers, with a high around 68. Tuesday and Wednesday stay cool, while northeast winds strengthen to 15 to 24 mph Wednesday. A possible coastal low could bring additional rainfall and stronger coastal winds Thursday into Friday, making the second half of the week feel more windbreaker than beach towel.
