Breeze Airways is adding another Florida getaway to its lineup out of the Upstate, announcing it will begin flying between Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport and West Palm Beach starting December 18. The new route will run twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, and introductory fares were offered starting at $59 one way during the initial booking promotion.
Fifth Florida Route From GSP
The West Palm Beach service makes it Breeze Airways' fifth direct Florida destination from GSP, joining existing routes to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, and Tampa, according to the Post and Courier. Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District President and CEO Kevin Howell said West Palm Beach has been among the destinations most frequently requested by Upstate South Carolina travelers, the newspaper reported. Breeze Airways founder David Neeleman said South Carolina guests will love the new seasonal route to West Palm Beach, according to WSPA.
The addition brings Breeze's total route count at GSP to 11, including its seasonal offerings, per WSPA's reporting. That growth has been rapid: the same outlet's report notes Breeze launched a route from GSP to Columbus, Ohio in May 2026, followed by routes to Cincinnati and Fort Lauderdale in early July, giving the carrier four new GSP routes in 2026 alone. The Post and Courier's report separately credits the earlier Columbus, Cincinnati, and Fort Lauderdale launches to those same months.
An Airline on the Rise at GSP
Breeze Airways has become GSP's fastest-growing airline partner, now offering more destination choices from the airport than any other carrier, per the same Post and Courier account. That is a notable shift at an airport where American, Delta and United have been major carriers. Breeze first entered the Upstate market in May 2024 with seasonal nonstop service to Providence, Rhode Island, and Tampa, Florida, according to Breeze Airways.
Beyond Breeze's growing footprint, GSP International Airport already offers flights to Fort Lauderdale and Miami in South Florida, and other carriers provide direct service to Fort Myers, Sarasota, and Tampa/St. Petersburg, the article notes. Across all its airline partners, GSP now offers nonstop service to 30 total destinations, according to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.
Record Passenger Numbers Fuel Growth
The expansion comes as GSP rides a wave of record demand. The airport set an all-time annual traffic record in 2025, handling 3,043,621 total passengers, a 5.7% increase over 2024, according to the airport's own statistics. That growth has given the airport leverage to attract point-to-point leisure routes like the new West Palm Beach service, particularly to South Florida destinations popular with Upstate travelers.
Breeze operates its GSP expansion routes primarily using Airbus A220-300 aircraft, which come outfitted with high-speed Wi-Fi, in-seat power, and premium seating options, according to Air Service One. Whether twice-weekly service can sustain long-term demand once introductory fares expire and winter travel cools remains an open question for the airline's continued Upstate expansion.
Breeze's Broader Expansion Pattern
The GSP addition fits a pattern Breeze has repeated at other secondary airports across the country. Hoodline previously reported on the carrier returning to San Antonio with new nonstop connections, and Breeze has also added routes from Provo, Utah. Breeze has also previously added routes connecting West Palm Beach to other cities, including a 2024 announcement of new flights to New Haven.
