The Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force took part in the court-authorized search, which unfolded in Bridgeport's East Side neighborhood. Police have not named any individual suspects in court filings, though the department anticipates numerous arrests as the case moves forward.
Investigators also carried out court-authorized searches at two Shelton addresses and executed a search warrant at Morales Market, located at Kossuth Street and Jane Street, but the department reported no evidence of criminal activity was found at either the market or the Shelton locations. That detail suggests the Ohio Avenue address was the operation's central hub even as the broader search cast a wider net.
Chief Cites 'Outstanding Investigative Work'
Bridgeport Police Chief Roderick Porter credited his officers for the bust, saying the seizure is the result of outstanding investigative work. Porter, who was appointed chief in December 2022 after 30 years with the Bridgeport Police Department, added that preventing these dangerous narcotics from reaching the public has saved lives in Bridgeport and elsewhere.
The scale of the fentanyl haul carries serious legal weight. That task force is a multi-agency partnership uniting federal agents with detectives from Bridgeport, Stamford, Stratford, Fairfield, Trumbull and Norwalk police departments, according to the FBI New Haven Field Office.
Local search warrants in the region have repeatedly evolved into federal conspiracy cases. In September 2025, federal prosecutors indicted 15 individuals following an FBI Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force investigation into a ring distributing fentanyl and cocaine across southern Connecticut, per the U.S. Department of Justice.
