Buddy Guy is turning 90, and he's marking the occasion with a star-studded concert at Radio City Music Hall on Thursday, Oct. 1, featuring Eric Clapton, John Mayer and more than 20 other artists. The catch for fans hoping to be in the room: getting a seat won't come cheap.
The show, billed as Buddy's Got The Blues, will bring together 23 artists in all to celebrate the milestone birthday, according to the New York Post. As of the publication's Sept. 22 search, the lowest ticket price found was $1,199 including fees on Vivid Seats, while prices in the pit started at $7,684 including fees. A separate listing on SeatGeek showed Radio City Music Hall tickets starting from $1,437, though the discrepancy between that figure and the Post's reported floor price was not resolved.
The event's official listing confirms the Oct. 1 date at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, according to Blackbird Presents, which notes that tickets are being sold through Ticketmaster and that additional legendary artists and special guests may still be announced. Notable names already locked in include Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Jon Batiste, Joe Bonamassa and ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons, per the Post's reporting.
A Packed Bill Built Around a Blues Icon
The lineup joining Guy at Radio City is deep. Gary Clark Jr., Aloe Blacc, Robert Cray, Jimmie Vaughan, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks round out one stretch of performers, while Shemekia Copeland, Samantha Fish, Eric Gales, Robert Randolph and Kenny Wayne Shepherd fill out another, according to the same Post report. Buddy Guy himself put the night in personal terms, saying, “Can't wait to celebrate 90 years of living, loving, and playing the blues with all my friends,” and adding, “We'll make it a night not just for me, but for the folks who taught us, the friends we've played with, and the ones coming up behind us.”
Guy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 and has won nine Grammy Awards over his career, per the Post's account. Rolling Stone has also recognized his standing among his peers, ranking him No. 27 on its list of the Rolling Stone 250 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.
What to Know Before Heading to Radio City
Anyone attending the show should plan their entrance in advance. Radio City Music Hall advises concertgoers to use the entrances located on 50th and 51st Streets between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, according to MSG, the venue's ticketing page. Oversized bags larger than 22 by 14 by 9 inches are prohibited at the hall, the same listing notes.
The Party Keeps Rolling Across North America
Radio City is just the opening night of a bigger celebration. Guy's North American tour runs from Oct. 8 through Oct. 29, according to the Post, taking him to the State Theatre in Minneapolis and the EPIC Event Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, before stops at the Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet, Illinois, and Clowes Memorial Hall in Indianapolis. He'll close out the run with a show at Memphis's Graceland Soundstage on Oct. 29, per the same report.
The birthday run comes a little more than a year after Guy released his 20th studio album, “Ain't Done With The Blues,” on July 30, 2025, an album the Post reports featured contributions from Joe Walsh, Peter Frampton and Joe Bonamassa. At 90, Guy is showing no signs of stepping away from the stage he's occupied for decades.
