A man wanted on an attempted homicide warrant out of Butler County was taken into custody Saturday evening after trying to flee through a second-story window and falling off a roof during a police raid on the 300 block of South Myers Avenue in Sharon. He was hospitalized with injuries from the fall and remained in custody there afterward, with police withholding his name pending further proceedings.
According to WPXI, the arrest happened around 7:30 p.m. Saturday when law enforcement served a search warrant at the Mercer County house. The Sharon Police Bureau reported the suspect attempted to climb out a second-floor window and over the roof before falling, and he remains hospitalized under guard. Channel 11 said it would provide an update once his name is released.
The operation drew on more than local resources. Per Cedar News, officers were executing an active arrest warrant issued out of Butler County for attempted criminal homicide when the suspect tried to escape through the second-story window and fell from the roof before being apprehended and turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service. Sharon police worked alongside the Mercer County Critical Incident Response Team and the U.S. Marshals Service to carry out the arrest.

The Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, operated by the agency, locates and apprehends violent felony fugitives. The case involved a Butler County warrant and an arrest in Mercer County, spanning the two counties.

If convicted, the suspect could face steep penalties. Under Pennsylvania law, 18 Pa.C.S. § 1102(c), a conviction for attempted criminal homicide — graded as a first-degree felony — carries a maximum sentence of up to 40 years in prison if serious bodily injury results, or up to 20 years if it does not, according to court filings before the Supreme Court of the United States.
Butler County authorities have handled other high-profile attempted homicide cases this year.
