A traffic stop in Northwest Travis County last week ended a search for a man wanted on felony charges of sexually assaulting a child and stalking. Cedar Park Police officers pulled over Fermin Alejandro Calles Garcia, 24, on September 5, acting on a tip and with help from Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division special agents based in Austin.
Texas DPS had listed Calles Garcia, a Venezuelan national, on its Texas 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants list before his capture, according to Texas DPS

Travis County authorities had held active warrants for Calles Garcia since March 2025, on charges of sexual assault of a child and stalking, along with a misdemeanor warrant for assault causing bodily injury, per the same DPS account. He was booked into the Williamson County Jail following his arrest, with jail records showing charges that included bond forfeiture and assault causing bodily injury, according to Williamson County Mugshots Zone.

Calles Garcia's arrest adds to a broader tally: Texas DPS and partner agencies have arrested 56 people featured on the state's 10 Most Wanted lists in 2026 alone, including 39 sex offenders and nine gang members, the agency says. The Texas Crime Stoppers program has paid out $79,000 in cash rewards for anonymous tips that led to arrests across those lists during the same stretch, with the money funded through the Governor's Public Safety Office.
Tipsters submitting information through Crime Stoppers are assigned a tracking number instead of having personal identifiers recorded, a protocol designed to guarantee anonymity when rewards are paid out, as Hoodline previously reported in the arrest of a 69-year-old fugitive on the same list.
