Temperatures will climb steadily through the morning before peaking in the upper 80s Wednesday afternoon. Thursday looks warmer, with temperatures in the 90s.
The National Weather Service says the warm late-summer pattern will continue into early next week, with temperatures at or above normal across the Charlotte area. There are no watches, warnings or advisories listed for the city in the current forecast.
Friday Brings Afternoon Storm Chances
Friday starts mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 94 degrees, but the forecast turns more unsettled after 2 p.m. Showers and thunderstorms have a 50% chance during the afternoon, followed by additional storm chances Friday night and a low around 70.
Storms are expected to be more of a nuisance for outdoor plans than a major severe-weather threat at this point. The National Weather Service says the potential for significant weather remains low.
Cooler Weekend, More Unsettled Skies
Saturday should be cooler, with a high near 86 degrees and a 50% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Storm chances continue into Saturday night before conditions become more uncertain from Sunday onward.
The weekend shift is a meaningful update from Hoodline's earlier forecast, which focused on a quieter stretch into Thursday. Unsettled conditions may continue into next week.
Best Windows For Outdoor Plans
Wednesday and Thursday offer the most reliable stretch for errands, exercise and outdoor events. Friday afternoon through Saturday night is the period most likely to need a backup plan, especially for activities that cannot easily move indoors.
