Tuesday keeps the summer feel going with mostly sunny skies and a high near 90. Winds will remain light, shifting southeast at 2 to 6 mph, making for a warm day across the Cincinnati area.
Wednesday Brings The Week’s Heat
Wednesday is expected to be the hottest day of the week, with sunshine and a high near 93 degrees. Southwest winds will increase to between 5 and 12 mph, offering only a little relief from the heat. According to the National Weather Service, Cincinnati averages 21 days each year reaching 90 degrees or higher, based on the 30-year climatological normal period from 1981 to 2010.
The pattern turns unsettled Wednesday night as showers and thunderstorms become likely after 8 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 60%, with rainfall amounts generally expected to stay between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
Storms Arrive Before A Cooler Thursday
Thursday looks considerably cooler but wetter, with showers and thunderstorms likely and an 80% chance of rain. The high should reach about 82 degrees, while storms could complicate morning and evening travel or interrupt outdoor plans.
The National Weather Service says the front may move slowly through the region, meaning repeated storms over the same areas could create a localized flash-flood concern. No watches or warnings are posted for the Cincinnati area at this time, but heavy downpours Thursday will be worth monitoring.
Sunshine Returns For The Weekend
Friday brings a calmer finish to the workweek with sunny skies and a high near 84. Saturday and Sunday warm back up into the upper 80s, with only a slight chance of afternoon storms Saturday and mostly sunny conditions expected Sunday.
