A quiet Tuesday gives way to showers
Clouds are expected to continue Tuesday night, with a low near 61 degrees and only a small chance of precipitation. The wetter part of the forecast arrives Wednesday, when showers are possible, with a few thunderstorms possible later in the day. Rainfall totals are expected to remain below a tenth of an inch.
Showers may linger Wednesday evening before conditions settle into mostly cloudy skies overnight and a low near 60 degrees. Thursday should remain mostly cloudy with a high near 74, followed by a brighter, drier Friday with sunshine and a high near 72.
What to do if thunder develops
Even a relatively limited shower forecast can include a lightning risk if thunderstorms form. Hamilton County Emergency Management advises residents to go indoors when thunder is heard and remain there for at least 30 minutes after the last thunderclap.
Residents should not rely on outdoor warning sirens for sufficient warning indoors or in noisy areas, according to the Hamilton County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency. The county recommends using multiple ways to receive emergency information.

Cooler nights, pleasant weekend
Friday night could be the chilliest part of the stretch, with temperatures falling to around 49 degrees. Saturday is expected to be sunny with a high near 74, while Sunday should be partly sunny. Warmer weather returns Monday, when the high may reach about 80.
