El Paso is getting a taste of a national daytime wellness trend when Coffee & Chill sets up shop at SERVE El Paso on Sunday, September 20, bringing coffee, cold plunges, a live DJ and a full slate of fitness sessions to West El Paso. The gathering runs from noon to 3 p.m. and folds workouts, specialty drinks and recovery treatments into a single party format that organizers describe as part coffee meetup, part wellness event and part daytime rave.
The El Paso date, as reported by KLAQ, marks the fifth stop on Coffee & Chill's six-city Texas Tour, which began September 5 in San Marcos before rolling through San Antonio, Houston and Dallas ahead of El Paso, with Austin still to come, according to Coffee & Chill. The tour materials describe the events as daytime wellness gatherings. Elsewhere on the statewide tour, the lineup has leaned on festival-level electronic acts, with DJ sets from Dillon Francis, Big Gigantic and LP Giobbi appearing at select stops, according to POST Houston's event listing.
A Morning Workout Before the Afternoon Party
Before the coffee and cold plunges take over, the event opens with an 11 a.m. to noon workout and run session co-led by two familiar names in El Paso fitness. Run For It EP, co-founded in 2018 by Thomas Chavarria and Freddy Arellano, is a social run club, according to The Prospector. Joining them is Work It Fitness Boutique, the East El Paso studio owner Katrina Forti opened in April 2021 as a female-empowerment private training center, as reported by KVIA ABC-7.
Once the run and workout wrap, the main event settles in with specialty coffee and matcha, a live DJ, a photo booth and a misting tunnel to help attendees cope with the heat. Coffee & Chill's recovery lineup goes well beyond drinks, adding B12 vitamin shots, red light therapy, cupping, massages and multiple cold tub setups branded as Party Plunges, according to Coffee & Chill's own event materials. Attendees planning to take the plunge are encouraged to bring their own towel, and organizers suggest a tote bag to carry home event goodies.
Limited Parking at the Venue
Per organizers, parking at SERVE El Paso will be limited on event day, and they're encouraging attendees to use rideshare services instead of driving. The venue, located at 1633 Cimarron Emporium Place, opened in July 2025 as the city's first dedicated racket sports entertainment venue, combining indoor pickleball courts, an outdoor padel court and a full-service restaurant, per Playtomic/CourtSource. Ticketing and registration for the event run through SweatPals, a digital platform built specifically for fitness groups and wellness communities.
Part of a Bigger West El Paso Build-Out
SERVE's 2025 debut adds another active-lifestyle venue to West El Paso, which also includes Padel Paso, a venue with eight outdoor padel courts, according to CourtSource. Coffee & Chill's daytime format combines fitness and wellness activities. For El Paso, the Sunday stop offers a preview of whether that daytime party model can find a lasting audience west of the Franklin Mountains.
