A 39-year-old Collinsville man was killed early Thursday morning in a multivehicle crash on westbound Interstate 270 near mile marker 10 in Glen Carbon. Andrew A. Parcels was driving a black GMC Terrain and was its sole occupant when the crash occurred, and he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 6 a.m.
According to RiverBender.com, authorities were notified through 911 at approximately 4:54 a.m. Thursday. Madison County Coroner's Office Investigator Annie Evans responded to the scene and pronounced Parcels dead at 5:52 a.m., per the same report from secondary-mobile.riverbender.com.

Visitation is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, Illinois.
Additional visitation will follow from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, October 2, at First Baptist Maryville, located at 7110 IL-162 in Maryville, with the funeral service set to begin at 11 a.m. that same day, according to the funeral home's obituary listing.
