Friday Offers A Brief Storm Window
A slight chance of showers lingers through early Friday afternoon, with isolated showers and thunderstorms possible between about 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Rain chances remain near 20%, and rainfall totals should stay below a tenth of an inch. The National Weather Service Fort Worth says storm coverage should be limited, with most of the area remaining rain-free.
The latest outlook is a modest shift from the earlier Hoodline forecast, which placed more emphasis on storm chances before the heat returned. Today's small rain opportunity remains, but there is little meaningful relief after that.
Triple-Digit Heat Takes Over The Weekend
Tomorrow and next Sunday are expected to be sunny with highs near 101 degrees, while heat index values could reach 105. Next Monday and Tuesday should also reach about 101, followed by a high near 100 next Wednesday and around 99 next Thursday. Overnight lows will hover near 79, leaving Dallas with warm nights and limited recovery after sunset.
Winds will generally stay from the south at 5 to 10 mph, with gusts reaching 20 mph next Sunday and up to 25 mph next Monday. No watches, warnings or advisories are currently posted, but the combination of triple-digit afternoons and warm overnight temperatures can still make outdoor activity hazardous.
