Disney On Ice is back in El Paso this week with a brand-new production, bringing more than 50 characters from across the Disney universe to the ice at the El Paso County Coliseum. The touring show, called Disney On Ice presents Jump In!, kicked off a run of nine scheduled performances at the Paisano Drive arena, mixing figure skating, aerial stunts, and audience participation into a single storyline built around a magical mousepad.
According to KTSM 9 News, the El Paso engagement includes characters pulled from Frozen, Encanto, Zootopia, Toy Story, Moana 2, and Inside Out 2, alongside Disney mainstays Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. Princesses Ariel, Jasmine, Rapunzel, and Tiana also appear in the lineup, per the same report, with Mickey and his friends said to travel through different Disney stories over the course of the show, according to a news release cited by the station.
The schedule runs through the weekend at the El Paso County Coliseum, located at 4100 E. Paisano Drive. The schedule published by KTSM lists nine performances for the El Paso engagement. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and the coliseum box office, with prices varying by purchase.
New Tech Behind the Ice
The production launched under Feld Entertainment on August 29, 2025, in Orlando, Florida, and has been touring 36 North American cities during its 2025–2026 season, according to Live Design Online. The outlet reports that Feld Entertainment runs eight distinct Disney On Ice productions touring simultaneously worldwide.
Live Design Online also details the lighting rig built to survive an ice rink: 20 perimeter-mounted Anolis Divine 60 UV LED fixtures engineered to withstand high humidity and freezing temperatures for glowing UV sequences, plus 90 Robe iFORTE moving lights overhead. That configuration, the outlet notes, came together under Sr. Director Chris Lamb and Lighting Designer Nick Whitehouse. The show folds in newer Disney film properties like Moana 2 and Inside Out 2 alongside that hardware.
A Coliseum With Its Own History
Hosting a high-tech touring ice show inside the El Paso County Coliseum links two very different eras. The building opened on May 21, 1942, as the El Paso County Live Stock and Agricultural Exhibition Building, built for $321,000 and designed by architect Percy McGhee to support local rodeos and livestock shows, according to Wikipedia. Later that year it was renamed the El Paso Coliseum following a local newspaper contest.
During World War II, from 1943 to around March 1944, the coliseum housed Italian prisoners of war. The Texas State Guard used the building in 1946, and braceros were sheltered there in 1951, per the same Wikipedia entry. Today the venue is managed by the El Paso Sports Commission, which lists a capacity of roughly 6,500 spectators and says the arena hosts between 125 and 150 live performances and sporting events annually. The Wikipedia entry describes renovations beginning in 2001 and a separate project projected to cost $6.7 million in 2003.
What Families Should Know Before Arriving
Venue rules require every attendee age two and older to have a paid admission ticket, and character costumes are prohibited for guests 14 and older, according to a guide published by El Paso Mom. The coliseum also enforces a clear bag policy, permitting clear bags no larger than 12 by 12 by 6 inches or small clutch purses up to 4.5 by 6.5 inches, with exceptions for medical equipment and diaper bags accompanying a child. Non-clear backpacks, camera bags, and outside food or drinks are banned.
Parking in the coliseum's 850-space lot costs $5 in cash, and the same guide advises arriving at least an hour early because of lines and traffic. Families looking for extra time with characters can add on Disney On Ice's optional Magical Pass, which allows early entry starting 45 minutes before showtime for photos and meet-and-greets; those character greetings wrap up 15 minutes before the performance begins, per Disney On Ice.
Feld Entertainment has staged Disney On Ice productions for more than 340 million spectators across 80 countries since the original Walt Disney World on Ice debuted in 1981. El Paso's stop is part of a wider run of Disney On Ice tour dates this season.
