Drivers may encounter damp pavement and pockets of reduced visibility before conditions gradually improve. The National Weather Service says no thunderstorms are expected in the stable, cooler air, and no watches, warnings or advisories are posted.
Friday Starts A Sunny Weekend
Clouds will thin Thursday night, with a low near 59 degrees and northeast winds easing to 5 to 10 mph. Friday should be sunny and warmer, reaching about 78 degrees. Saturday and Sunday look mostly dry and sunny, with highs near 81 and 82 and overnight lows in the upper 50s.
Warmth Returns Next Week
The brief fall-like pause will not last forever. Atlanta is expected to warm to about 84 degrees Monday and 87 degrees Tuesday, with mostly sunny skies and only small rain chances. Wednesday stays mostly sunny early, though a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives after 2 p.m.
