Firefighters were called to a commercial structure fire on the 11200 block of Pellicano Drive in East El Paso at 2:49 a.m. Tuesday, battling flames with hotspot work continuing until 7:10 a.m. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Crews were dispatched following multiple 911 calls reporting smoke and fire at the commercial building, with the first fire engine arriving on scene at 2:57 a.m., according to KVIA. The El Paso Fire Department said its personnel responded to what it classified as a Condition 2 commercial structure fire.
Responding crews continued extinguishing hotspots until 7:10 a.m. that same morning, per the fire department's update.
Fire Marshal's Office to Determine Cause
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The city's Fire Marshal's Office handles official fire investigations for commercial building blazes in El Paso.
No information has yet been released identifying the specific business tenant affected or the financial scope of the property damage. Those details remain open questions as the investigation continues.
A Busy Industrial Corridor
The stretch of Pellicano Drive where the fire broke out is in East El Paso. Pellicano Drive has also been the site of road-widening work.

Tuesday's fire adds to a string of recent structural blazes EPFD has battled across the city. Just days earlier, crews responded to a multi-agency fire in the Upper Valley. The department also responds to severe medical emergencies in East El Paso, though no injuries requiring that response were reported in Tuesday's incident.
