A man was robbed outside Josie's Bar in Manhattan's East Village around 3:20 a.m. Tuesday after two people struck him with a gun and took his Timex T-Cell watch, passport and an unknown amount of cash, according to the New York Post. The suspects left in a white vehicle; no arrests had been announced several hours later.
Attackers Struck Near Avenue A Before Dawn
The New York Post reported that the robbery happened near East 6th Street and Avenue A, outside Josie's Bar at 520 East 6th Street. Police said two people approached the victim, and one hit him over the head multiple times with a gun. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital and listed in stable condition, according to the New York Post.
The location is within the NYPD's 9th Precinct. The Post reported that the suspects had not been identified and escaped in a white car.

The figures are precinct-wide year-to-date counts, not an explanation of this individual attack. The NYPD cautions that CompStat figures are preliminary and subject to further analysis and revision.
Still, violent street robberies have continued to surface elsewhere across the city in recent weeks. Earlier in September, West Side Rag reported that four separate gunpoint robberies took place along East Drive in Central Park in a single night. Days later, amNewYork detailed a Midtown case in which a man allegedly pistol-whipped a Grindr date at a hotel during an attempted robbery.
Other recent incidents point to a pattern of brazen tactics targeting nightlife venues and their patrons. In August, amNewYork reported that a trio of thieves tied up workers and stole a safe during a robbery at a Manhattan cocktail bar. And outside an Astoria club, ABC7 New York reported that a man died after being shot during an attempted robbery, with the suspect fleeing in a white Mercedes-Benz SUV and remaining at large.
No arrests had been announced in the Josie's Bar case as of Tuesday. The victim's condition, described only as stable, and the fate of his stolen watch and passport remained unclear.
