A 30-year-old Ellenville woman has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of her 10-year-old daughter more than a year after the girl was found unresponsive at their Park Street home. Angelica Sullivan was arrested Thursday by New York State Police and arraigned in Town of Wawarsing Court, where she was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
The charge stems from the August 18, 2025 death of Kathleen E. Pulido, who was found unresponsive at a residence on Park Street in the Village of Ellenville. According to The River Reporter, Ellenville police responded to the report and the girl was transported to Ellenville Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased after lifesaving efforts failed. New York State Police then took over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
More than 13 months passed between Kathleen's death and Sullivan's arrest, and authorities did not release how the investigation led to the charge, according to News 12 Hudson Valley.
A Case That Crossed County Lines
The investigation crossed county lines. Kathleen lived in both Ulster and Orange counties, and agencies from both counties assisted the probe.
The investigation involved a long list of agencies: the Ellenville Police Department, the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, the Ulster County District Attorney's Office, the Ulster County Child Advocacy Center, Ulster County Child Protective Services, the Orange County Family Violence Unit, and Orange County Child Protective Services, per The River Reporter.
Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation Captain Brad Natalizio said the arrest resulted from an extensive investigation coordinated with the Ulster County District Attorney's Office and other law-enforcement partners. “Investigators remained focused on following the evidence and conducting a thorough and objective investigation,” Natalizio said, according to The River Reporter, adding that he was grateful to the agencies that assisted throughout the process. Second-degree murder in New York is a Class A-I felony that carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years to life and a maximum of 25 years to life upon conviction, according to the New York Criminal Lawyer Blog.
Remembering a Girl Who Loved to Draw and Dance
Kathleen Elizabeth Pulido was born February 20, 2015, and enjoyed drawing, dancing, and arts and crafts, according to an obituary published by Loucks Funeral Home in Ellenville. She was survived by her father, Dennis Pulido, and siblings Lhiam, Noah, and Rosemary.
The Ellenville area has seen a string of serious homicide cases in 2026, including an April extradition from Florida of a suspect on second-degree murder charges in the death of an Ellenville woman. As with all pending criminal cases, the charge against Sullivan remains an allegation, and the investigation is ongoing.
