A mother walking her two children to school in east Enid on Tuesday was attacked after she yelled at a speeding driver to slow down, according to police. Police say she was punched, kicked and struck with an object. The driver, described as a white man who was shirtless and fled in the car, remains at large as investigators search for leads.

The confrontation happened near 20th Street and Pine Avenue as the woman was walking her children to school, according to the Enid Police Department. As reported by KOKH, the woman yelled at a speeding silver four-door car to slow down, and police say the driver turned around, got out of the vehicle, and assaulted her, punching and kicking her and using an object.

The woman was treated at a local hospital for her injuries, per the station's report. Investigators describe the suspect as roughly 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 160 pounds, with short brown hair and no shirt, unshaven, and without visible tattoos. Police say he fled the scene heading north before turning west onto Chestnut.

Coolidge Elementary School is located at 1515 E. Ash Avenue. It remains unclear whether neighborhood security cameras captured footage of the silver sedan or the fleeing suspect.
