Downtown Oakley has a new place to sip wine. Favalora Vineyards Winery held its official ribbon cutting and grand opening at 204 Second Street, bringing a dedicated tasting room to the city.
The event was announced by the City of Oakley on Facebook. The tasting room now offers tastings Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5 pm, wine by the glass or bottle on Fridays from 4 to 8 pm, and live music paired with wine service on Saturday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, all at the Second Street address.
Favalora Vineyards Winery has ties to both the Livermore Valley and Oakley wine regions.

The winery says its first vines were planted in 1999. Favalora also sources grapes from Oakley vineyards.

City Grant Fuels Downtown Storefront Push
The tasting room's arrival was supported by the Oakley Retail and Light Industrial Improvement Grant, which the city says supports investment and revitalization in the local business community. Oakley's City Council created the broader Citywide Retail & Industrial Revitalization Grant Program in February 2023 using $700,000 in federal American Rescue Plan Act funds, offering commercial businesses matching grants of up to 80% of project costs, capped at $50,000, according to the City of Oakley.
Favalora's opening joins the $50,000 grant-backed opening of Rocki's Chicken downtown. Hoodline previously reported on the $50,000 grant behind Rocki's Chicken, which opened at 3350 Main St. in June. Together, the additions reflect city leaders' push to fill ground-floor storefronts along Main and Second Streets with active weekend destinations.
For its opening events, the tasting room hosted live music, with live music now scheduled weekly during Saturday evening hours. The community venue gives Oakley residents a chance to experience Favalora's wines downtown.
