Flo Rida is bringing his catalog of platinum hits to Uncasville next month, and this time nobody has to buy a ticket. The rapper, born Tramar Dillard, is set to perform a free show at Mohegan Sun's Wolf Den on October 10, 2026, open to anyone 21 and older who's willing to line up for a seat.
The show adds another marquee name to Mohegan Sun's 30th anniversary celebration, which the casino resort is expanding with the free Flo Rida performance, according to CT Insider. Flo Rida broke onto the pop music scene in 2007 and has since built a run of platinum-selling tracks including “Right Round,” “Low,” “Club Can't Handle Me,” “Elevator,” “In the Ayer,” “Sugar” and “Good Feeling,” per the same report. His song “Low” has been certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America, and his hit list also includes “Wild Ones,” “Whistle,” “I Cry,” “I Don't Like It, I Love It,” “G.D.F.R.” and “My House.”
The Wolf Den itself is a small room by casino standards — just 350 seats inside Casino of the Earth — and it operates as a non-smoking, 21-and-older lounge that has offered free live entertainment on a first-come, first-served basis since the venue's debut, according to Mohegan Sun. Seating for the Flo Rida show follows that same open-access model. Guests are not allowed to start lining up more than three hours before showtime, and while one person can hold up to four spots in line, everyone in that group has to be physically present when doors open in order to actually get a seat.
A Stacked October Lineup Around the Milestone
Flo Rida's date lands in the middle of a packed run of shows tied to the resort's 30th anniversary, all set for Mohegan Sun Arena except his free lounge gig. Foo Fighters kick things off on October 4, followed by Alanis Morissette on October 2 — before Flo Rida's October 10 Wolf Den set, John Mayer plays the arena on October 9, country singer Laney Wilson takes the arena stage the same night as Flo Rida on October 10, and DJ Cassidy's Pass The Mic Live! closes out the run on October 11.
Mayer's arena date carries its own bit of history. His October 9 performance marks his return to the property after a 16-year absence, following his last Mohegan Sun show on February 19, 2010, during his “Battle Studies” tour, according to Live Music News and Review. The arena itself has been racking up accolades ahead of the anniversary, having been voted “Best Casino Concert Venue” in the 2026 Newsweek Readers' Choice Awards and named “Casino/Resort Venue of the Year” at the 37th Annual Pollstar Awards, as reported by Yogonet.
From 10,000 Seats to 350
Flo Rida isn't new to the property — he headlined the 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena back in June 2018, a sharp contrast to the 350-seat free lounge he's playing this time, per Concertful. That gap illustrates the split in how Mohegan Sun programs its live music: the Wolf Den runs as an un-ticketed room with strict three-hour line limits, while the arena sells tickets for acts pulling in thousands of fans at a time.
Thirty Years on the Thames River
Mohegan Sun opened to the public on October 12, 1996, on the Mohegan Indian Reservation in Uncasville — meaning the resort's 30th birthday lands just two days after Flo Rida's free show, according to Wikipedia. The property now spans 240 acres along the Thames River, with 364,000 square feet of gaming space across two casinos and 1,563 hotel rooms split between its Sky Tower and Earth Tower. The Mohegan Tribe, which secured federal recognition in 1994, generated more than $5.2 billion in local economic activity in 2019 and supports 35,000 jobs through its tribal government and enterprise operations, according to Gaming America.
Under its gaming compact with the state, the Mohegan Tribe pays 25 percent of Mohegan Sun's gross slot machine revenues directly into Connecticut's General Fund, per the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. The anniversary festivities don't end in October — Mohegan Sun Arena will mark its own 25th anniversary in November with a two-night “No Repeat Weekend” stand by Metallica on November 19 and 21, the band's first Connecticut shows since 1998.
