A Building With Deep Ties to the Broad Family
Eli Broad's connection to the Sherry-Netherland dates back to at least 1985, according to The Real Deal's account. He bought a full-floor unit on the building's 25th floor from cellist Lawrence Lenske in 2006. He owned a two-bedroom unit on the building's 23rd floor in the 1990s. He listed a full-floor co-op for $15 million in September 2008, as documented by the Observer, but ultimately sold it for $8 million in 2011 after the asking price dropped to $9.9 million.
