According to CW39 Houston, the lineup includes sketch comedy, musical performances and stand-up, headlined by The Phill Wade Show alongside performances from Sauvi D., Lil Darrell and Nick B. Beats on the Bayou runs on the first Friday of each month, per East River, meaning the next installment is expected to follow that same monthly schedule going forward. That broader effort is anchored by a $100 million catalyst grant from the Kinder Foundation combined with $107.5 million in public funds from the City of Houston and Harris County.
To address gentrification concerns tied to the East River development, Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 18 and local advocates established a Community Benefits Agreement with developer Midway targeting affordable housing, public park access and traffic management in the Fifth Ward, per TIRZ 18.
