Gunfire near one of Fort Collins' busiest recreation hubs sent two people to the hospital Thursday night, though police say the danger has passed. Officers and emergency crews responded to a report of shots fired near Edora Pool and Ice Center around 10:30 p.m., and the two people injured suffered non-life-threatening wounds.
According to Fort Collins Police Services, the incident does not pose an ongoing threat to the public, even as detectives continue investigating what led to the gunfire. The department has not released details on where exactly near the facility the shots were fired or what led up to the shooting.
A Popular Park Facility Becomes the Backdrop
EPIC has ice rinks. It is located in Edora Park, which includes a skate park, disc golf course, community garden, sports fields and a Spring Creek walking trail, according to the City of Fort Collins.
