A fight between two housemates at a Hackensack rooming house turned bloody Saturday when one man allegedly punched the other and hurled a glass bottle that shattered, slashing the victim's face and head. Police say the 39-year-old victim was left with lacerations after the confrontation on the 200 block of First Street.
Officers responded to the rooming house on Sept. 19 after a report of a fight between two housemates, according to Daily Voice, which cited Hackensack Deputy Police Chief Gregory Zisa. Authorities said Jesus Toro Sanchez attacked his housemate by punching him and throwing a glass bottle at him during the altercation.
Bottle Shatters, Leaving Victim Bloodied
The bottle broke on impact, leaving the 39-year-old victim with lacerations to his face and head.
According to police, Sanchez was charged with assault and with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, as reported by DailyVoice.com. No further details on his attorney, bail status, or a court date were included in the police account.
