Hapeville Pizza Company is packing up its ovens and moving from its longtime spot at 626 South Central Avenue to a new storefront inside The Signal apartment complex at 397 North Central Avenue. The Black-owned pizzeria, known for its wings and specialty pizzas, has operated in its current location for about two and a half years.
Co-owner LeShawn Woods is tentatively targeting an October 18 opening in the new space, according to WhatNow Atlanta. The restaurant continues to operate in its original space while construction proceeds on the new build-out, and the team has shared a video showing progress on the future storefront. The move was announced by Bridger Properties, the commercial brokerage handling leasing at The Signal.
The Signal itself is a 285-unit, seven-building mid-rise apartment community spanning eight acres, developed by South City Partners, with construction beginning in 2021 and delivery in 2023, per prior reporting from Urbanize Atlanta. The complex changed hands in July 2024, when CBRE brokered its sale on behalf of the original developer.
