A basement listening lounge tucked beneath one of Hoboken's newer cocktail spots is finally nearing its debut. The team behind Anthony David's and SRO announced this week that Below SRO, a downstairs music-and-cocktail room at 107 10th Street, is opening soon, giving uptown residents another reason to head off the main strip.
The announcement came via an Instagram post from the SRO team dated September 23, according to The Hoboken Girl, which reported that the venue will feature a dedicated vinyl setup, a DJ booth, and a curated food and cocktail program. The outlet describes Below SRO as aiming for an intimate, music-forward experience that complements the cocktail lounge already operating above it.
It has been a long time coming. Earlier reporting from hudsongold.com had Below SRO targeting a late July or early August opening, a timeline that clearly slipped. That same coverage describes the space as built for roughly 50 people to eat, drink, and spin vinyl, and frames the whole project as a distinctly side-street idea rather than a Washington Street spectacle — a basement listening lounge planted a block off Hoboken's main commercial drag.
A Second Act For The Team Behind SRO
SRO itself opened at 107 10th Street in February 2026, per the same hudsongold.com account, as an upscale bar from the crew behind Anthony David's. Below SRO was always part of the plan for that building: as alojapan.com reported, the team intended to expand with a lower-level listening lounge featuring vinyl records, food, drinks, and private events. The upstairs concept is led by chef Anthony Pino and Liz Pino, according to the same report.
Upstairs at SRO, the menu already leans into a high-low mix that includes duck spring rolls, deviled lobster eggs, beef empanadas, and caviar service, alojapan.com notes. That kind of curated, slightly indulgent approach appears to be extending downstairs, with the Hoboken Girl team having reported that chef Anthony Pino provides the curated food menu for Below SRO, while Ken Rosado leads the new room's cocktail program.
Music, Vinyl, and a Members-Only Layer
Liz Pino has said Below SRO will center on music, cocktails, food, hospitality, vinyl, and curated sound, according to the Hoboken Girl. The publication also reports that DJ Center and Andres Jimenez, who serve as music and brand directors of Esme Collective, will lead the DJ booth and music programming for the space.
Below SRO will be open to the public, the Hoboken Girl reports, but it will also offer a limited membership program that includes priority reservations, special events, and other member benefits. No official opening date has been announced for the venue, according to that same reporting.
Design Details Nod To The Building's Past
Some of the design choices throughout SRO pay homage to the building's earlier life as Hoboken Body Art, a former tattoo parlor, with Liz Pino noting that select details reference that history, per the Hoboken Girl. Victoria Lagano contributed tattoo-inspired designs incorporated throughout the space, the outlet reports, and Anthony David's had received approval in June 2024 to convert the former tattoo parlor at 107 10th Street into a cocktail bar before extending its liquor license to the location.
Hoboken's appetite for intimate, music-driven nightlife concepts isn't happening in a vacuum. Comparable projects have been surfacing elsewhere in North Jersey, including MODO Hi-Fi Listening Bar in Berkeley Heights, which Table & Banter Hospitality describes as a curated-cocktail-and-Japanese-food concept aiming for a late fall 2026 opening.
